Greetings in the name of the LORD. It gives me great pleasure that in the tradition we started over the past decade with the phenomenon called "Alumni" we are still able to come visit Cancele. The affection of such a rugged place called Cancele has had far reaching impact to those who have been part of her. The Cancele spirit continues to rise even amid the challenges of being put into oblivion. We have met divinity in the strangest of places. We are told about the incarnation of GOD in man that he was born in a stable, a strangest place for a king of kings to be associated with. Cancele is rugged at this time but it is a place where subjects of divinity are groomed. Cancele has a burden of injecting true education to our world. We cannot watch this place die. Hence the focus of the Alumni. The event fo the year 2009 will bear witness to the birth and launch of Vusa iCancele (VUCA) initiative. Education can be described as the art of imparting knowledge or skill. It could be summarized as the knowledge received by learning and instruction. A very deep meaning of education and one that seems to be diminishing is that, it should be seen as the preparation of life. As we all know life begins with GOD and He is the author of life. Any education that does not juxtapose with GOD, then it is no education. Simply put, education must always have the element of GOD and divinity in it. "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding" ; Proverbs 9: 10 (KJV).
In a world where education seems to be diminishing in meaning and ran according to world standards, how are we to prepare our children for the life ahead? As we all know that we are living in the time of the end where the powers of darkness are gaining control as prophesied by the bible, do we continue bombarding our children with baseless education that does not have GOD? We are the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church and we are challenged and found to be the ones letting down our greatest weapon for a time predicted by the word of GOD; our greatest weapon being education. Is it lack of believe in the word of GOD that we allow our schools to die?
It is in school live Cancele Senior Secondary School that we find hope. We find hope that our children will be prepared and be given an understanding of education. They will be given distinction to know where academic education starts and ends and they will be given an understanding of GOD and hence education in it reality. As following with the strategy of the SDA denomination; Cancele also concentrates on the three H's (Head, Heart and Hand) as depicted by the triangle in the logo.
We are a group of former Cancele students and personnel who are fond of Cancele. We are leaders in our domains and can attract assistance in positioning Cancele as a world class institution. Over the past decade we have been there going up and down with Cancele.
The greatest challenge of all is the resistance that no one expects such act of nobility from anyone in this day and age. Our earlier attempts were met with resistance. However, it was during the leadership of Pastor J.J. Mdakane that the Alumni initiative to salvage Cancele was given an opportunity without question. It is with his leadership that the Alumni initiative began to take form and shape. Most of what we are able to achieve are due to this legendary man, Ps. Mdakake. During the course of this gathering we will be launching a new initiative in the process of salvaging Cancele, an initiative called VUCA.

No one is forcing us to be in the course to save and salvage Cancele. However, it is over our dedication and concern that we have decided to sacrifice and spend our monies and use our resource for Cancele. It saddens me when there are those in the realms of Cancele who want to see this initiative fail. Of course we were once students of Cancele; however, now we come as concerned parents and adults. The future of children's education lies with institutions such as Cancele. My prayer is that Cancele may survive and continue being the best. Only this time we are embarking on creating a flair of professionalism. It should be noted henceforth that failure is the hardest thing to be considered when talking of Cancele.
